I was talking to Sean many times during the Bushfires. I’m totally gutted for him.We had a truly amazing response to our Thirsty Third Sunday and fundraiser for our Bilpin Business Share initiative.
We sold 280 Pork Rolls and are contributing $2,000 from this revenue to Sean Lonergan and his Astine Farm.
Sean is the Bilpin RFS Fire Captain. His farm was destroyed during the fire storm on Saturday December 21st. Not only did Sean lose this years fruit crop, the burnt trees will all need to be cleared, with limited capacity to generate income for the foreseeable future. Fortunatly our farm was spared and we have the capacity to continue trading - Sean was not so lucky and our business is only too happy to be able to share $2,000 with Sean’s business.
The Bilpin Cider Co Team thank all who braved the ‘very welcomed’ rain as well as those that helped us promote the event - including #backtobilpin, @farmgatetrail @kurrajongnsw @hawkesbury_lifestyle @hawkesburychic @churchbarwindsor @nesting_abode
We intend to continue our Bilpin Business Share initiative with the same arrangement planned for February’s Thirsty Third Sunday on February 16th with the contribution going to a fire affected local business, individual or organisation.

The current bushfires have come through Little Tootie but with good preparations and help from the RFS we only had minimal damage. Thanks to everybody who has helped to keep us safe. Not to forget a bit of luck. ...
